Application

Zeal Impex manufactures high-quality Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) rods, commonly known as FRP/GRP rods, which are widely used as dielectric composite cable strength members. These rods are engineered to deliver exceptional tensile strength and maintain a high degree of stiffness throughout their service life, preventing cable buckling.

They are particularly well-suited for loose tube, uni-tube, slotted core, and ribbon cable designs, serving as both central and peripheral reinforcement in fiber optic cables. FRP rods play a dual role—providing cable reinforcement during installation while reducing tension on signal-carrying optic fibers or conductors. Their lightweight nature prevents sagging in aerial installations, while their rigidity and strength support the cable load.

Description

Our FRP rods are crafted using E-glass fiber combined with a heat-resistant thermal resin system. These rods are available with various coatings, including EAA, Tuff, Mega Bond, and HDPE. The coatings enhance handling properties, with Tuff coating offering a smooth surface, while Mega Bond coating ensures superior adhesion to up-jacketing materials.
